Joceline Cormier Biography
The first thing you notice about Joceline Cormier is her quiet sense of confidence. She exudes a real air of
calm and purpose. This, when you think about it, has to be a huge benefit when part of her job consists of customers handing
over their homes and businesses into her care!
Joceline is the president of HERSCU Security a Beaconsfield-based company that specializes in residential and
business security, across Montréal, South Shore, Laval and North Shore. Along with locksmith services and products such as
security grills, security casings and PC Power Locks for computers, the company excels at residential, commercial and industrial
surveillance.
On a regular basis, Relocation Services and Corporations whose employees have been relocated or are traveling
on business as well as homeowners who are going on extended vacations hand over the keys to their premises to Joceline. HERSCU
Security offers peace of mind to its customers by ensuring that each client's residence or premises is inspected on a regular
basis, interior as well as exterior.
HERSCU Security is a division of Les Entreprises HERSCU Inc. a company that sells and installs commercial doors,
reverse osmosis filtered water dispenser, Aprilaire humidifiers, Thermo-Pump, Air conditioning units - both central as well
as mural types. Repairs of any type of furnaces and new installation as well as replacement of hot water tank and oil tank.
Prior to HERSCU Security, Joceline worked as a Relocation Officer for Canada Trust and was in charge of overseeing
the security or sale of its employees' residence when they were relocated to another location. So, she was familiar with the
industry before venturing out to start her own business in 1980 with her husband, Harry Saferman.
When asked about whether or not she was nervous about launching HERSCU Security, Joceline smiles and says, "Nervous?
No! I had a strong background in administration and can implement systems very well. I've always been organized.
And it shows. In addition to running her business with her husband, Joceline manages her time so well that she
has time to squeeze in some golf, as well as take Tai Chi classes and plays piano and guitar now and then. She is also looking
forward to being a part of WENS, for the social aspect as well as being able to help other women in business. As Joceline
says, "My purpose is to help people, and there are many, many ways to do so."
This
sense of helping others also reflects in the business. Big name companies like Bombardier don't put their trust into any company
for their security needs, but into a company that goes beyond the call of duty.
"If something
goes wrong at a client's house - for example, the sump pump stops while they are away we will try to repair it, rather than
just buying a new one. We save our clients a lot of money," notes Joceline. "If it has to do with security, we'll find a way
to do it for our clients. We never say no! The company is always up for a challenge."
That sounds
a lot like Joceline Cormier herself - always up for the challenge and always finding new ways to help people.
