Laurence Chriqui: Baby-bundle.com
When
she lost her mother to cancer at age 20, Laurence realized how incredible the gift of life is. She feels that the mark you
leave is a function of how much you have contributed. She decided then and there to make the most of what she had been given.
By
education, Laurence is a registered recreation therapist. While working in several hospital settings including the Jewish
General Hospital, and having had 3 kids in 4 years, Laurence was ready to make some changes. She felt that the decision to
have children and then leaving them all day long to go to work, followed by a frenetic pace to get through supper, bath, and
bedtime left no room for enjoying the kids (and life). In fact, after a long day at work, she had little patience left for
her own family members, and was constantly irritable. She felt it wasn't fair to her kids, her husband, or even herself to
always be cranky and short-tempered. After the birth of her third child, Laurence knew something..........She knew it was
time to change directions.
She
had been a long-standing client of a fellow mom who sold an ingenious product from home. This product, the pouch-a bunting
bag, allows parents to put a newborn baby in the car seat without having to put on outerwear first. The pouch is in fact,
a snow suit for the car seat. Laurence loved this product, bought it for all of her friends and family who were expecting.
In fact, she "loved the product so much, she bought the company." It turned out to be a sound decision as she would work from
home, combining her love of sewing and meeting new people, and still be there
for her children and husband.
Since
becoming the"baby-bundle lady", Laurence has designed and added several products
to the line. Laurence is a people-lover, which is very useful in the aspect of service
and consulting at baby-bundle. Clients custom order products according to their own fabric selections. Recent notable orders have gone out to a certain "Shiloh" and "Ruby" both children of Hollywood personalities.
Laurence
has many interests! She produces mixed media art- a creative way to display family photos, reads attentively, is learning
about natural health and healing on a personal level, loves discussion groups, and can be found on any given day running around
the West-Island in company of her 3 children while ferrying them to their respective activities, or at the gym.
Laurence
volunteers her time in several places. She has been on the board of directors for the YM/YWHA of Montreal, been a co president of home and school at United Talmud Torah Schools, and is presently on the West-Island Management
Committee of Federation CJA. She is also currently putting together the annual gala for Hebrew
Foundation School (Where she is on the board of directors) being held this June.
