Tanya Maier is passionate - passionate about golf
and passionate about getting more women to play.
She views the game as a tremendous business tool,
one that women have been missing. This deep
passion has resulted in her business, Foresight
Strategies. Tanya helps professionals and
individuals build lasting relationships both on and off
the golf links by offering corporate golf seminars,
consulting and coaching.
When she was 10-years old her father put the first
golf club in her hands and ever since Tanya has been
playing golf. A few years later, Tanya's father gave
her a golf instruction book and wrote the following
inscription: "May this book help you enjoy this lovely
sport. Love Dad." Little did he know just how far the
game of golf would take her.
At first, it wasn't obvious. Golf remained a passion,
but was played as a hobby as she pursued a career
in technology, which included running her own
business called Computer 1-2-1 where
Tanya provided computer and software training to
individuals and small businesses.
For over seven years, Tanya worked in sales and
marketing for one of the top Montréal IBM Premier
Business Partners. In her last five years, she held the
position of Account Manager for some of the
company's largest clients, often selling IBM solutions
in the $1.5 to $2 million range. It was here that golf
once again took a dominant role in her life. Tanya
began to use golf to stand out from the crowd.

As the summer holiday season comes to an end and
the kids fall back into school, the arrival of
September traditionally announces the resumption
of "back to work" for most entrepreneurial women.
So it was somehow appropriate that the inaugural
WENS Breakfast Meeting took place on the first day
of September. On Wednesday, September 1st, WENS
kicked off a series of bi-monthly breakfast networking
events. With over 20 people in attendance, it was an
excellent start to the series. Both established WENS
members and brand new participants were seen
chatting in the elegant banquet room at La Plaza
located in the Holiday Inn.
