Judith Watson ~ Creative Thymes

Creative Thymes is a specialty hors-d'oeuvres catering company that was established in January 2004. Through the diverse knowledge and skills of its owner, Judith Watson, the client list has continued growing with IBM, McGill University and The McConnell Foundation.

Judith was trained at a culinary institute in South Australia in 1983 where she earned her degree as a chef based upon Cordon Bleu techniques.

After travelling around the wine-growing district of South Australia, Judith was offered a position with Janet Jeffs at her country inn, Kilakanoon, where she spent two years living in the countryside, developing a solid appreciation for local ingredients, working with local residents and serving clients from the many wineries in the area.

After extensive experiences in Australia Judith moved to Austria and became the chef for the Italian Ambassador to the UN, Ambassador Mario Allesi. Two years later, she worked with a catering company, Bon Appetit, to provide services for the Diplomatic Corps. Living in Europe offered many opportunities to experience and nurture culinary expertise in Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian cuisines.

In 1997, Judith moved to England to work with other chefs at different venues, including Harrods. It was during this time, after being away from home for 12 years, that the draw to return to North America reached its peak. Connecticut was the next port of call.

Judith continued to maintain her intense relationship in the culinary world and worked as a private chef in Greenwich, Connecticut, only later to finally come back to her "roots" in Montreal. To update her food management skills, Judith accepted a position with the US-based Holiday Corporation, and worked as their Executive Chef, organizing their kitchens and implementing menus from recipes she culled in her travels. Three years later, the Compass Group Canada made Judith an offer, giving her the opportunity to hone her HR skills by organizing a large staff in several kitchens around the city.

Announcements : As we learn more and more about search engine optimization, we are discovering that linking two domain names to one website is no longer an acceptable technique recognized by the search engines. Doing so can hurt your ranking and it is advised to have only one domain name for your website.

  • Past Events "How to Speak to Women as a Woman"
  • Effective public speaking can be a huge challenge - especially for women. On a hot Wednesday night in July, WENS members had the opportunity to learn tried-and-true methods for delivering power presentations from veteran keynote speaker Ennio Vita-Finzi.

Vita-Finzi used playfulness and humour to engage his audience throughout the learning process. "I was truly drawn in by his energy and experience," said Colette Martin, one of the participants. " He encouraged us to participate and share a few laughs along the way. There's no better way to learn than having fun in the process".
