My name is Lynn Desrochers and I am president and co-founder of Dalyson Video Productions Inc. My husband, Dave Carmichael
is the Vice-President and Technical Director and is involved in the company on a part time basis. We specialize in transferring
old film or video to DVD. We also sell an outstanding collection of Royalty Free music CDs for multimedia productions and
are currently in the process of designing and developing a variety of CD / DVD promotional gift packaging products. At Dalyson,
we make a "reel" difference. My first job was delivering the Montreal Star at the age of 12 while I worked part time for my dad at the customer
order desk of A&W. Also, at the age of 12, I tried out for my High School gymnastics team. I was not chosen because I was
pigeon toed, not flexible and totally uncoordinated. This was my biggest rejection, which later became my biggest victory.
I asked if I could come to the practices anyway without disturbing the class. How could the coach refuse? One year later
I was MVP of my team, and 2 years later I won a silver medal at the provincial championships. I learnt very early in life
that if you believe in yourself, your dreams will come true, even if all odds are against you. I graduated from high school at 15 and started working at Bell Canada. I later pursued my education as a mature student
at Concordia University towards a Commerce degree. I worked in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa for Bell, moving up the ranks.
Highly competent in customer service and sales, I achieved Presidents Club recognition status in 1987. In my Project and Account
Management positions, I was known as the "Customer Service Guru" amongst my engineering peers. Read more about Lynn right here!

The
Top 10 Dos and Don'ts of Networking

#1 - Do Be Genuinely Curious Shyness is
easy to overcome when you are genuinely interested
in people. Always encourage others to talk about
themselves. Everyone has a story, so listen and be
sure to ask open-ended questions that foster
conversation. Learn something from everyone you
talk to. Some of the best conversationalists do very
little talking.
#2 - Don't Be Aggressive Start with casual
conversation before broaching the subject of
business. While exchanging business cards is
appropriate, carrying a fistful of promotional material
is not. Never -ever!- barge in on a group and
proceed to dominate the conversation.
