At first glance being an independent consultant for Spa Sensations is a long way away from Heather MacIntosh's career
start as a teacher, but Heather would be quick to tell you, "I've never left teaching! I'm still educating people, only now
it's about showing women how to pamper themselves a little and letting them know that you don't need to feel guilty for taking
time for yourself." In many ways, Heather's life has come full circle. After graduating from university with a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Bachelor of Education, Heather spent seven years
in the education field, working primarily as a high school teacher, but also as an administrative assistant at Mount Saint
Vincent University in Nova Scotia. With the birth of her daughter, Heather would embark on a new career for the next 14 years,
that of full-time mom. A Reawakening and A New Beginning
It was when her sister-in-law introduced her to the world of direct
sales that Heather felt a wake-up call. She had been looking to re-enter the work force and wanted a career that would offer
her the freedom needed to balance a family life, hobbies and travel. Direct sales seemed like a good match. However, when
it came time to make presentations, the normally confident Heather who had spent seven years of her life standing at the front
of the class, became nervous and uncomfortable.
